Course – Science Level – Pre-GCSE (13-14 year olds) Days & Time – Thursdays 11.30 am Overview – 1 weekly 45 minute live lessons (Google Classroom) – 1 weekly home study task with detailed feedback ————————————— Topics – Living Organisms Developing knowledge and application of cells and organisation, the skeletal and muscle systems, nutrition, digestion and gaseous exchange. – Reproduction and inheritance Developing knowledge and application of reproduction and genetics in humans and plants, including reproductive systems, menstrual cycle, gametes, fertilisation, gestation and birth. – Physical chemistry Developing knowledge and application of the properties of matter, atoms, elements, compounds and the periodic table. – Organic chemistry Developing knowledge and application of the composition and structure of the earth, rock cycles, the carbon cycle and composition of the atmosphere. – Forces Developing knowledge and application of motion, forces and pressure. – Energy Developing knowledge and application of energy stores, energy in the home and electricity.
