Science

It truly is a privilege to teach and support all students to reach their full potential. I have 11 years of experience teaching Science and Psychology, which has cemented my firm belief that any child can achieve anything.

I pride myself on my ability to quickly develop productive, positive rapport with students and parents. I most recently was an Assistant Headteacher (Assistant Principal) in a Secondary School. I am a human-first, optimistic and motivational educator with impactful energy.  I always provide useful feedback and plenty of exam practice with exam techniques to help secure as many marks as possible.

I enjoy creating challenging,  fun, engaging and impactful educational content to help students develop and foster their love of learning. I always provide personalised and challenging learning to cater to all needs and help students achieve their best. Positive reinforcement and plenty of memory retrieval activities will feature in all my lessons. I have a lot of experience effectively empowering students with additional learning needs (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language (EAL) to succeed.

Let's start this journey of success together.

Aimee Cooper

Geography

Hello, my name is Aimee and I am a fully qualified Geography teacher. I have always been fascinated by the world around me, and my passion for understanding the way our planet works led me to pursue a career in Geography. I have now been working in Education for over a decade, and I still find it incredibly rewarding to see my students engage with the subject and develop their own understanding of the world.

My teaching style is very interactive, and I like to use a variety of resources and techniques to engage my students. Whether we are exploring the impact of climate change on different regions of the world, or discussing the causes and consequences of natural disasters, I always try to bring the subject to life and make it relevant to my students.I have a particular interest in teaching young people with additional needs and work hard to make sure that all my lessons are accessible and engaging to everyone.

As well as teaching, I also work as an A-level examiner, this ensures that my curriculum knowledge is always up to date and I can ensure that my students are confident in exam technique as well as their Geography knowledge.

Overall, I am passionate about Geography and am committed to helping my students develop a love for the subject too. I believe that Geography has the power to help us better understand the world we live in, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to share that knowledge with others.

History

Hi, I’m Neelam, a fully qualified History teacher.

I am a History GCSE specialist and Edexcel Examiner. I teach home-educated students. I have been a secondary teacher for ten years and decided to bring my expertise to help students on a personal level.

My calm and patient teaching methods help my students to learn to develop their inquisitive nature and question the narratives of the past. I teach them the skills they need to become effective historians. This will help them pass their History exams. I also teach KS3 and Pre GCSE, where they will have plenty of opportunities to practise the skills they need for GCSE.

During my time as Head of Department, I led on development of curriculum and GCSE exam specification, and developed strategies to build clear links and themes that students could identify with, so that they could understand the past and the bigger picture.

As an experienced Edexcel Examiner, I know exactly what examiners look for, and use that knowledge to help my students write better answers.

I provide weekly detailed feedback to students and can mark work live on screen if needed.

Anna Siddall

Maths

I am a Mathematics GCSE specialist with teaching experience providing A level and Additional/Further Maths content. I began my teaching career in 2009 and have been teaching in and out of schools ever since.

I left my previous school in December 2015 to become a full time mum. Since then I have worked with students with a range of abilities and successfully helped students reach their target grade for GCSE. I returned to teaching part-time in a school during 2019/2020 and gained additional experience to keep up to date with the new GCSE curriculum. I have now decided to focus on tutoring as a career path alongside raising my three children.

Since deciding to focus on tutoring as my chosen career, I have worked in my local area in the evenings and weekends. To support these students during the Covid-19 pandemic I also delivered lessons online with great success. I only teach on a one-to-one basis and therefore specialise in a flexible and individually tailored approach for each student. I plan and respond to each student’s needs on a weekly basis but always with our long term goal in mind.

I work alongside schools or home-educated students to support the curriculum being delivered. I believe each student should be supported taking into account their own unique and individual needs. I love maths and I am truly passionate about my subject and I am confident in providing the skills needed to pass exams. I have experience working with students across a range of exam boards both in school and tutoring.

Qualifications include: BSc Mathematics, PGCE Secondary Mathematics

Sam Oram

English

Hello, my name is Sam, and I am a fully qualified English teacher. I have taught for over 15 years and my passion for literature and the way we communicate has never faltered. I love being able to enthuse my students with same delight for the English language and great works that I have spent years studying. It is wonderful to see how learners grasp meaning and appreciation of texts, which in turn lead them to become proficient writers themselves.

I am an approachable person who can easily develop a great rapport with young people. I feel having a mutual respect and understanding of each other provides a solid basis on which to learn. My delivery is upbeat yet calm, and flexible to alter to the pace of the student. I like to tailor the lesson to the needs of the student and thus resources are varied and interactive. I like to make effective use of models so that a student knows how to approach the task and can ‘see’ the expected outcome.

I have practised as a GCSE examiner for AQA in the past and ensure that my knowledge of the existing curriculum and assessment objectives are always current. In this way I feel that my understanding of the board’s requirements are clearly communicated to the student.

I am a diligent person who always has the student’s learning needs at the heart of my lessons. They are thoroughly prepared and ‘road-tested’ so that my teaching is delivered with confidence and assurance.

Qualifications include: BA Hons English and PGCE Secondary English
